The Faught Family

Hudson is the middle kid in our family and since the day he was born his free spirit, love of life, sense of humor and adventurous spirit have made him a larger than life presence to all of those around him. Just as he was starting Grade 2 and going to hockey tryouts, more and more things started to seem “off” about him. He loves to eat but was barely touching his lunches, he was the first one to fall asleep at bedtime, his energy, speed, and strength seemed low during hockey tryouts, and he had bruises showing up in odd places with no explanation. When he developed a pin like rash called petechiae and threw up some blood, we knew we had to get him to the hospital.

We took him into Olds Hospital in the morning and by the end of the day, we were at the Alberta Children’s Hospital hearing a leukemia diagnosis. Since that day 2 months ago, we have spent over 20 nights being admitted to the hospital and have also made over 20 trips to receive chemotherapy treatments, blood transfusions, and medications.

Hope4MVC kids stepped up for us right away and provided support for us in the form of gift cards for fuel and food.

The support of Hope 4 MVC kids has been amazing during this time. While we are worried about Hudson’s progress through the chemotherapy regimen, stressed about driving slick winter roads, concerned with childcare for our other two children, and trying to figure out how to pull through this tough time as a family we have really appreciated having the burden of food and fuel eased for us so we can focus on what is most important – caring for Hudson.

Thank you so much for your support, it means the world to us!
