“On May 9th my husband and I’s life changed forever. I was 33 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I went to the labour and delivery unit in Red Deer to get “checked out” during my work day, thinking I would be in and out of there quickly.
After finding out my membranes ruptured prematurely I was admitted to hospital for treatment. Reality of the situation didn’t sink in until we delivered our baby boy 2 days later at 34 weeks gestation.
We knew we were in for a stressful experience. Between committing our time to being at the NICU, living away from home while trying to take care of ourselves, it becomes a lot to take on. This is when we learned of Hope 4 MVC kids and decided to apply for funding.
The funding we received from the society helped us pay for fuel, parking, food and hospitality. Allowing us to stay in the city where we could be close to our son.
We will be forever thankful for Hope 4 MVC for helping us in our time of need.
Thank you all so much!”
