The Boody Family

I was never really a person who enjoyed being pregnant. But at 25 weeks pregnant with our 3rd boy I felt like something was different. I got admitted to the hospital for preeclampsia and was told that the chance of delivering in the next couple of days was high. Being only 25 weeks pregnant and having to deliver him that early was really scary. We managed to hold off a week and a half but my blood pressure would not stay stable so the doctors made a plan to deliver him the next day. Stetson Frederick Boody was born on January 25th at 26 weeks and 6 days gestation, weighing 2lbs 1oz. When the craziness of the delivery was over and I was okay from the surgery, our focus turned to Stetson and the long NICU journey ahead of us, the doctors initially said 12-16 weeks. Some friends and family told us about Hope 4 MVC Kids and that we should apply to take some stress off us during our stay. We are so thankful for the support of the society in helping cover the cost of the Ronald McDonald house, food, gas, and parking passes. It really helps us to be able to focus on taking care of Stetson and not the financial side of things as my husband has been off work to take care of both of us. We would highly recommend anyone reach out to Hope 4 MVC Kids if you are in need. The application was easy and the funds got to us quickly. We cannot thank them enough for helping us while we are on this journey!

Stetson is now doing great and growing each day! He is 3lbs 9oz currently (March 15th)

and reached a major milestone of coming off oxygen, out of his isolate, and getting to wear clothes for the first time! We don’t know how much longer he will need to be in the NICU but each day is a step closer to bringing our baby home.
