Breah entered her grade 12 year in September of 2022. With her hopes and dreams set on her academics, playing volleyball and working part-time, she was a healthy and positive young lady. Sept 18th Breah woke up with a lump on her neck. After a variety of tests, scans and appointments she was diagnosed with Stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. This was shocking and the number of people, appointments and information coming our way was overwhelming.
I contacted Lisa Nicholson as she was our travel agent and we would require our upcoming trip to be cancelled. She reminded me about Hope 4 MVC Kids Society. She took the time to hear my fears and concerns. She gave a clear overview of the types of services offered by the Society and assured me when the time was right, they would be there for our family.
We were not prepared emotionally or financially for what was unfolding. Breah was attending chemotherapy appointments, scans, bloodwork and many other tests at 3 different hospitals. Hope 4 MVC Kids supported our family with some travel and meal assistance. On top of this, Breah began to lose her hair. We were able to apply for support to purchase a wig for her. This has meant the world to her as a teenager going through a childhood cancer diagnosis.
Hope 4 MVC Kids has a simple process which makes all the difference when a family is going through one of the most stressful times in our lives. Thank you for the support provided to our family as we continue to navigate this challenging journey!
