I would like to express our thanks for the support from Hope 4 MVC Kids.
We moved to Olds last July to be closer to family for support. Our daughter Kelsie was born with a heart defect and now has lung issues that keep us having to go to hospitals for checkups, procedures, and surgeries. Kelsie has had 2 open-heart surgeries and will likely have more in the future, we have a long road ahead of us. Coming to Alberta was going to be great for support from family to help with our other 2 boys but we were nervous about leaving our friends and family that had been helping us through the last 4 years.
We found out about Hope 4 MVC Kids by attending an event at the Arena in Olds shortly after moving to town. The people at the booth were both friendly, welcoming and helped us feel at home. We didn’t ask for any support right away but when we had to go again up to the Stollery for several days we decided to reach out. We spoke to Katie and we had an answer back within a day I think it was as to whether Hope for MVC KIDS would be able to help us out. This organization was able to help support us with GC’s for meals, Hotels, and parking which really helped in relieving the financial part of going in for another procedure. Which allowed us to focus on Kelsie and learn what the doctors had to say. I really hope you understand how much this means to our family. Going in for procedures and surgeries is so stressful but feeling the support of the community really makes a huge difference. I know you are at the top of our list if someone is looking for a group to support.
Thank you for being a part of our community! You really are making a difference in the lives of children and Families
